Every now and again I decide to mix things up and test out new techniques and play with a few ideas that have been going around in my head. This time I wanted to try out some dramatic dog portraits.

Firstly I had to grab a willing test subject. Thank fully my mum has the most well trained dog I've ever known, but also the most nuts and completely bonkers.

The idea of the photoshoot was to add some drama to what was quite a dull, cloudy day by adding some extra light in the form of flash. I would bring down the ambient light in camera and make the subject stand out with the flash. The results, I couldn't be happier with.
